Hey there!
I'm Amanda!

There isn't a time in my life that I can remember not taking photos. Even if it was just one of those disposable film cameras on a school field trip to Busch Gardens. (I know...showing my age here) I still shoot film alongside digital. Developing negatives and creating a print in the darkroom is like magic and historic photography mediums speak to my soul! And I don't just love the act of taking photos, I adore the photograph. The family photo that you look at everyday on your walls, the album you break out to share with the kids and grandkids, that old antique photo of your great-great-grandparents that's been passed down for generations. I vividly remember being a kid and telling my parents that they really should get those boxes of photos out of the attic so they don't get ruined. Turns out I've been telling people what to do with their photos my whole life! ;)

So not only am I going to give you a fun, memorable experience with unique images, I'm going to make sure you have actual photos you'll be proud to pass down to your great-grandkids so they can see how cool you were.

This girl loves a theme! And I love making abstract photography! And I plan on incorporating little bits of those into every session. Whether it's just a hint of prism reflections to add some flare to your photos, playing with creative lighting (or even fire if you're up for it)! ;) ...or maybe you have a whole vision for a full-blown steampunk-themed session and you need someone to bring it to life! *waves hand* This is the photographer you are looking for. <-- And if you got that reference we definitely need to be friends.

You're in good hands.

I lived and worked in Naples, Italy as an apprentice under a master photographer for three years before moving back home to Hampton Roads and starting my own business. I am a federal employee for the MWR (Morale, Welfare, Recreation) Dept. at Naval Station Norfolk where I take photos of special events, as well as portraits. I've done everything from Color Runs and underwater photos, to departmental employee portraits. I also work as an Army contractor at Ft. Eustis taking official military photos at special events and ceremonies, as well as official Army portraits in the studio. In addition to professional work I am also pursuing my Fine Arts degree in Photography and Print Media at Old Dominion University here in Norfolk, VA.

Photography isn't just my job, it's my craft!

Allow me to not only preserve your legacy and add a little something to those traditional photos that will make them as unique as you!
